In April 2014, I founded Pacific Northwest Copters. My intent was to provide the public with a cheaper alternative to high end photography drones. We had multiple variations from a simple quad-copter that had a spot for a camera, all the way to an octo-copter with a stabilizer for a full DSLR.

Each copter design would go through many tests to ensure structural integrity in all different types of situations that may arise during an average flight. Tests included wind tunnel simulations as well as real world flight and damage analysis.

During the Summer of 2015, we worked with enthusiasts to help establish a new hobby of drone racing. During that time, Pacific Northwest Copters switched from providing products to customers to providing a service for other drone companies to design racing frames. Pacific Northwest Copters can calculate aerodynamic forces and simulate flight and edit designs to provide a more efficient and effective flight.
